End of the century. Beginning of final decline. 1935-1939 excavation of the ruins and partial renovation. 2002-2012 further systematic restoration.

Hiking

The steep climb to the castle ruins is worth it! A wonderful view awaits you from above (distant view). The ruins are always open and freely accessible, including the keep (except when the Christmas lights are on). There are also shelters and picnic options at the castle.
