The Moorgut Karlshof is a former estate in Westerstede. The former manager's house, the large four-column barn and the former motor mill still exist today. The motor mill, built around 1900, is one of the oldest reinforced concrete buildings in Germany and has therefore been a unique monument since 2011. The barn, a two-story brick building, is built as a four-column house. It is 23.30 m long and 16 m wide and approximately 10 m high. Like the former motor mill, the barn has a flat gable roof, with the special feature of a roof overhang of 4 m on one long side.
On special occasions, the “Moorgut Karlshof” motor mill monument with its landscaped garden opens to visitors.
Works of art are also shown - for a limited time - and grouped together on special occasions within an exhibition in the Karlshof motor mill or in the open space.
Outside of announced events, the rooms and landscaped garden are private and not accessible.
