Mountain biking
A lake designated as a natural monument above Wernfeld in the former historic clay pits. All kinds of amphibians and insects cavort in and around the muddy water.
The quarrying of clay for crockery and bricks for at least 400 years resulted in pits which are impermeable to water at the height between Wernfeld and Gambach; Numerous more or less large ponds formed solely through surface water. Most of the unique biotopes in the arid area have now silted up.
