It is born under the hills of Can Pasqual (470 m) and Can Castellví (468 m), with a route of 12 km. It passes through the old town of Vallvidrera (near the church of Santa Maria de Vallvidrera), through Les Planes, La Floresta, La Rierada, below Sant Bartomeu de la Quadra and Molins de Rei, to finally drain into the Llobregat (18 m). The stream maintains a natural environment of riparian forest, with lush vegetation.

The Vallvidrera stream, with a long route, contributes to easy access to the water for the animals of the area, throughout its riverbed it is followed by ancient impressive trees of the Collserola Park.
