The Hungener pastures are sheep and goat pastures. They are part of a project entitled "Preservation and development of the pastures of the Wetterau dry island" in Hesse. The aim of the project is, among other things, the long-term protection of the lean grasslands and other habitats. Pastures are often weedy, irregularly grazed pastures and meadows without any growth promotion. They can also be located in sparse forests (pasture forest, also called Hudewald or Hutung (formerly Huth), is a former (primeval) forest), today lean grassland and pasture areas. This section looks more like a former (lignite) open-cast mine or burial mound. This is obvious, as the area was a mining area (see miners' houses at the edge of Trais-Horloff). But it is not.
