Before the war, a wooden lookout tower stood on this hump, hence the name Belvedère. From here you could see all of Oosterbeek.

Hiking

There was indeed a wooden lookout tower there, and the spot was called the Belvedere. But from here, you couldn't see all of Oosterbeek. That was from the water tower a little further on. This was built later, in 1937. You could go up for a dime, and from there, you could indeed see all of Oosterbeek. This tower was also called the Belvedere.
