The Wilderness was part of the original 17th-century garden and was a place to think and read. Explore all of the different compartments with their wildflowers and summer houses. A perfect spot for a picnic!

Ham House is an atmospheric 17th-century manor house and gardens situated on the banks of the River Thames. It is the creation of the Duke and Duchess of Lauderdale, who transformed Ham House into one of the grandest Stuart houses in England. Home to an internationally-significant collection of paintings, furniture and textiles, the property is surrounded by a wonderfully-restored 17th-century gardens.

The 17th-century gardens at Ham House have been restored to their former glory. With formal gardens and a walled kitchen garden, come and relax in an environment filled with plants from the time of the Duchess of Lauderdale.
