    Circular walk of 8.7 km.

Characteristic: through an alpine meadow to the top of this cycling mountain, back via a detour with a different view of the mountain each time

Cyclists speak with awe about this toughest calf-biter in our country and without a doubt call it a mountain. A special surprise for hikers, because the mountain feeling is immediately there when you toil up through the colorful alpine meadow above Piepert.
There was heavy fighting in the Second World War. In the Eyserbos the Germans had hidden themselves in trenches. The Americans shelled the area from Gulperberg for four days before the Germans capitulated. Where the recognizable transmission tower is now located, the Americans then placed a large radar installation from which the food drops in the Northern Netherlands and the bombings in the German Ruhr area were coordinated.
After you have reached the top, the walk remains somewhat elevated and you have a different view of the mountain each time. In the distance you can see the mill of Vrouwenheide (216 m) with the geographic zero point for the underground coal mines. It has long been thought that this was the highest point in the Netherlands, because from the top over the Vaalserberg you can see the even higher Eifel. In winter, during the long descent to Eys you can see if there is snow in the Eifel or on the High Fens.
