In these areas many gates are placed to prevent livestock movement. They are usually kept closed by a lever or an iron ring, but without padlocks or keys. They can be passed freely, but must be closed after the passage.

Unfortunately, along the dirt paths there are some gates or nets that can prevent the passage.
In the tour of 17/05/2020 the three closures that I met in the area of the Castel Giuliano waterfalls, were rather rudimentary gates and therefore evidently put in place by private initiative rather than by local administrations.
Different speech for the nets found on the trail between the caldara and the waterfalls, "rightly" affixed by the ownership of the stables and which forced us to stretch a few kilometers in order to continue.
