Station 9: Kätcheslachweiher

Everything flows ... The path of water.

The Kätcheslachweiher is an important part of the new Kätcheslachpark on the Riedberg. Rainwater is collected in the pond. The rainwater from the public streets, paths and squares is collected in small basins and then led over ditches to the Kätcheslachweiher. From there the water reaches the larger Kalbach via the “Kätcheslache” brook. The Kalbach flows into the Nidda. From the Nidda, the collected rainwater from Riedberg makes its way towards the Main, from the Main to the Rhine and finally to the North Sea!

The pond was divided into two basins so that the water from the Kätcheslachweiher does not become muddy and dirty. In the smaller "settling tank"
