    !! Current information Corona virus‼ ️:
We have just received the news that some tourist destinations - including e.g. the Weser Skywalk and various lookout towers - to be closed to visitors before the weekend. With the spring-like weather an increasing leisure activity is to be expected, so that the required distance of 1.5 m to 2 m can not be maintained - therefore the crisis team has made a corresponding recommendation to the administrative offices of the district of Höxter. The police will increasingly control tourist destinations.
Please take this into account with your activities and stay - wherever possible - at home to protect yourself and others! And when you go out for a walk in the fresh air, make sure you are sufficiently distant from others.

'... The Rodeneck Tower, built in 1883, is located about two kilometers southwest of Höxter. From above, the view immediately falls on the river that dominates the landscape - the Weser - and the town of Höxter. The view from the Rodeneck Tower is one of the most beautiful there is.The area around the tower was named 'Roden-Eck' after the former city forester named Rode. Forester Rode had done a great job of reforesting the Ziegenberg, the forests of which had suffered from their previous use as goat forest pastures.A visit to the tower is also worthwhile as an independent small excursion.A short walk from the starting point, the forest car park near the former youth hostel, through a tree-lined, steep uphill path marked X16, brings you to the last 49 steps in the tower, and then you can enjoy the unique, beautiful and interesting view.
Sturdy shoes are recommended; binoculars are recommended.
The tower is owned by the city of Höxter. It is open daily free of charge ... '

Nice excursion point, the view is really worth it. From here some demanding narrow trails lead towards Taubenborn.
