The Ramstein Castle is a medieval castle ruin northwest of the Alsatian village of Scherwiller in the Bas-Rhin. It stands at 384 meters altitude about 300 meters southwest of the neighboring castle Ortenberg on a rocky rise of the Vosges Mountains and thus belongs to the type of mountain castle. The ruin was placed on July 1, 1924 as a monument historique under monument protection. Since it is however acutely collapse-endangered, the entrance is forbidden because of collapse danger since 1983.

burgenwelt.org/france/ramstein_lo/object.phpRamstein Castle was built on a 270 m long and about 6 m wide sandstone reef. After less than 100 years, the castle was destroyed and never rebuilt. Only a wall tooth of a residential building and two rock chambers of the castle have survived.
