Road cycling
Its origins lie in primitive Christianity. According to a reliable tradition, the place where the sanctuary stands, due to its dominant position between the Natisone and Judrio valleys, was the seat of a Roman garrison in defense of the city of Forum Iulii (today Cividale del Friuli) from the barbarian invasions started in the 5th century.
