A beautiful tour of Breglia on the Rifugio Menaggio on the Monte Grona. The view of Lake Como is overwhelming. A steep ascent which requires a lot of fitness, sure-footedness and a head for heights in the upper part. But this tour is definitely worth it.

You should bring sure-footedness with you here. Steep ascent/descent with passages secured by ropes.

there are 3 routes to climb to the summit of Monte Grona and they all start from the ref. Menaggio. the via ferrata, the direct route and the normal route.
the approach to the first starts from the path exactly to the west of the refuge, it is called the panoramic path and leads to the start of the via ferrata.
        moderately difficult via ferrata.
the direct route is the most demanding unaided hiking route (medium difficulty) and goes straight up from a path that starts just above and north of the refuge.
from the same path the normal route climbs northwards which makes a slightly wider circuit going towards the Forcoletta.
the path that leads to the oratory of Sant'Amate (water) also branches off from the same normal path
