On the wide paths around the Heimstettener See you can walk nicely with beautiful views of the water. The groundwater lake was created between 1937 and 1938 after the end of gravel mining operated by the Reichsbahn on the site. Today the 11.1 hectare quarry pond, which has been completely redesigned as a recreation area, is a popular bathing lake. It is 12.5 m deep at its deepest point.
