Unfortunately, the refuge had a very short life: the progressive retreat of the glacier and economic difficulties made its management unsustainable. The facility was closed permanently in 1992 and has remained abandoned ever since.
For those climbing, remember that reaching it is a "high mountain" route, so even if the trail is not difficult, it is not trivial and should not be underestimated.
