During the last ice age, glacier peaks formed several times on the summit of the Großer Arber. When the temperature rose, the glaciers began to slide. On their way down into the valley, they carved out the bed of the Great Arbersee. Thanks to this glacier work, you can enjoy the picturesque mountain lake on a circular hike here today.
