Super great place, march here is definitely worth it. If you are lucky and catch a good time, it may be that you can enjoy the silence and great views on your own.

The 1340 meter high Mittagsplatzl is a mountain and lookout point in the Bavarian Forest directly south of the Großer Arber and high above the Großer Arbersee. If you enter this high meadow, which was formerly used as an alpine pasture, you may be disappointed at first, but if you fly a few meters to the east to the edge of the rock, the wonderful view of the Großer Arbersee, the Bohemian Forest and the Großer Falkenstein is suddenly clear 🤩🤩 🤩👌👍

Great view of the Arbersee and Eisenstein

I like it best here in the late afternoon. Take a few minutes, just "suck in" the view. On the Auerhahnstraße (Panoramahöhenweg) back to the Schetterschachten with a magnificent view of the Arber and then enjoy the sunset over the Buchhüttenschachten. A nice round in summer even after work.

From Mittagsplatzl you have a very nice view of Bayerisch Eisenstein and the large Arbersee.

An absolute dream with the view down to the Arbersee

The Mittagsplatzl is at 1340m and one of the most beautiful spots in the Bavarian Forest. When you arrive at Mittagsplatzl, you will find a meadow that was previously used as an alpine meadow and a great view down to the great Arbersee. From the Arbersee you can also go through the Seewand to Mittagsplatzl, but the path is only for experienced and sure-footed people, as the path is very rocky.

Great view. If possible, start very early to avoid the midday heat.

One can guessed if one lingers at noon, that the Arber is not far. On this tour you can not catch a single glimpse of the work. If you go a bit further, suddenly a beautiful picture opens up.

Fantastically beautiful hiking destination, can only be recommended!
