Tremezzo gave its name to the bank of the Tremezzina, which is also called the bank of the azaleas and has been praised as the place of eternal spring since the Middle Ages. Perhaps the name Tremezzo comes from its location 'in the middle' (Tremezzo) way between Como and Sorico on the ancient Via Regina. Here the lake opens to the north - even if it still seems to be bisected by the Bellagio peninsula. From 1928 to 1947 Tremezzo, Lenno and Mezzegra were a single municipality called Tremezzina.

Superb village on the shores of Lake Como. Ideal for a stopover.

For cyclists... I don't know. A beautiful place. But the cycling infrastructure on Lake Como is rather sparse. Once you're there... beautiful.
