Oddicombe Beach boasts a large expanse of sand with delightfully-clean water and is sheltered by ancient Breccia cliffs with extraordinary geology. The Blue Flag beach can get busy in peak season, though. There is also a remarkable cliff railway above the beach, allowing you to see the geology up close—and get a fine view in the process. Babbacombe Cliff Railway is open every day from 9am to 5pm, except from 1st July until 1st September, when it is open from 9am to 6pm. Hiking

Oddicombe beach has a long tradition: the colourful houses and terraces are evidence of the keen interest of visitors. We enjoyed the walk down - with every step you leave civilisation behind and find yourself in a natural seaside resort. At nine o'clock in the morning we saw people smiling happily after their swim in the sea.
