The North Rhine-Westphalian State Stud can now look back on over 180 years of history. It was founded in 1826 at the request of horse breeders in Westphalia and the Rhine Province, making it the first Prussian state stud in western Germany. After the end of the war it became the property of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. However, the task of the state stud has remained basically unchanged since its foundation. It consists in providing horse breeders with high-quality and genetically interesting stallions for a reasonable stud fee. The ultimate goal is the progress in breeding.

The entrance to the stud is imposing, but almost inconspicuous. The outer facilities are approached via cobblestones. Still closed due to Corona.

The State Stud in Warendorf is located very close to the city center and is really impressive with its size and cleanliness, as well as the many spacious stables. Just the thing for 🐎 horse lovers.
