In the center of the Feldmark recreation area near Sassenberg in the Warendorf district lies the 13-hectare Feldmarksee, framed by campsites and weekend houses. With its bird protection island, an idyllic sandy beach, extensive sunbathing areas and a café, it is an attractive recreational destination on nice days. Part of the lake is separated as a bathing zone in the summer months. A swimming supervisor and lifeguards from the DLRG ensure the safety of bathers. The rest of the lake area is used by the local water sports association.
