The small, baroque church on the Kinberg is high above Lake Constance and was built around 1670. It is dedicated to St. Wendelin, the patron saint of shepherds, farmers and farm workers. Since 1931, the Wendelinsritt has taken place on the second Sunday in October. During the pilgrimage, groups of riders set off in Scheidegg and Niederstaufen to ride to the Kinberg. The two pilgrimages meet at the Wendelinskapelle and celebrate a celebratory mass together followed by the blessing of the horses.
