Just south of the former Pulautalbahn from Zellerndorf to Sigmundherberg (discontinued since 1988) is the idyllic quarry. At the Pracht Quarry, named after the stonemason Pracht and mentioned as early as 1363, the sandstone for churches and shrines was quarried. It can be assumed that the material for the ossuary in Pulkau also came from here.
If you come here by bike, it is best to leave your bike at the Steinarena and walk the last 350 m, the forest path to the quarry is narrow and bumpy.
