The Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park and Botanical Garden, often referred to as the “Green Lung of Bangkok”, is an idyllic natural paradise in the Phra Pradaeng district, just a stone's throw from the bustling city center. This 148 rai (about 237 hectares) area was opened in 2003 and offers visitors a welcome break from the urban hustle and bustle. The park boasts a diverse range of flora and fauna, which particularly attracts nature lovers and bird watchers. A 2.2-kilometer-long cycle path winds through the grounds and allows you to experience the lush vegetation and numerous waterways up close. A highlight is the seven-meter-high bird watching tower, from which you have an impressive view over the canopy and can observe various species of birds. The park is a true paradise for cyclists. Bicycles can be rented directly at the park entrance or at nearby ferry terminals, with prices ranging between 20 and 30 baht per day. The well-developed paths lead through shady areas, past lakes and bridges that invite you to linger.
