The location of the natural monument is located in a forest complex at the bottom of a deep shady valley located a kilometer west of the Brno district of Soběšice. The core of the area consists of three bodies of water. On the one hand an overgrown forest pond, on the other a pond lying above it at the bottom of the pond with a broken dam and a small pond below the pond. The ponds were built on the Kubelín stream, which is a left tributary of the Ponávka river. The protected area also includes adjoining sections of a narrow floodplain at the bottom of the valley and adjacent slopes. The stream floodplain above and below the ponds is occupied by a natural community of ash alders with sticky alder, ash and elm. In the undergrowth, there are typical moisture-loving species such as European carabiner, aubergine, eggplant, sedge and buttercup, on the banks of the stream grows a wetland and sedge. Of the aquatic plants, there are, for example, floating rdest and curly rdest in ponds, and small leaves of the lesser duckweed float on the surface. In the spring, amphibians migrate to ponds from distant surroundings. The common toad, the common frog and the brown frog breed here, in the past a great newt was found, and more recently also a newt. At the water surface, slender water meters run on thin legs. The elongated area along the 400 m long stream was declared a protected natural creation in 1987. Later it was declared a natural monument on a total area of 1.2880 ha as an important location for amphibian reproduction. The area is accessible by a forest road adjoining Klokočí Street in Sobišická and going around the stream to the gamekeeper's lodge to the valley floodplain of the Ponávka river near Řečkovice.
