Road Cycling Highlight (Segment)

On this section it is highly recommended to drive behind the dike on the water side. There is a quiet, well-paved path along the dike.
In front of the dyke on the land side between the dyke and the road (Neuenfelder Hauptdeich) there is a path not even 2 meters wide for pedestrians and cyclists in both directions.
Not only the occasionally high volume of traffic on the street, but also traffic on the narrow bike-footpath is life-threatening. Especially during the Airbus rush hour and the WE excursion traffic.

Here you can really cycle much better than on the road with its much too narrow bike path, on which there is often a lot of traffic depending on the day of the week and weather. Many seem to avoid this section because it ends at the Airbus site and you then have to drive the little dangling to get back to the road. But that doesn't bother at all. Since you are often completely alone, you can really apply putty here! Perfect for a small sprint session!
