"By Resolution 60/7, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on November 1, 2005, January 27 was declared the International Day of Remembrance in Rememberance of the Victims of the Holocaust. This date was chosen to commemorate the liberation of Auschwitz in 1945 and to call humanity to reflect on the atrocities of the past. Auschwitz was chosen because it was the largest of the concentration and extermination camps established by the Nazis. More than 1.1 million people, mostly Jews, were murdered there and their bodies cremated. Reflecting on these horrific events should keep the memory of the past alive and serve as a warning for the future."

The home is formerly owned by the Zalman family. Inside are objects related to a Jewish home. Outside is a memorial to the town's Jewish community, including several tombstones. You can get the key from the family in the home across the road, one house down next to the church from ~10-14 daily (except Sundays).
