The fieldstone church was built in the second half of the 13th century. There is an extension on the south wall of the nave. The floor plan of the hall church includes a church tower in the west, but it was not built. Instead, it was built in 1737 above the eaves of the nave as a roof tower clad in boards and covered with a pyramid roof.

Cycling

The church in Groß Kienitz was first mentioned in a document in 1305. It has largely retained its original shape. The tower is laid out in plan, but not higher than the height of the eaves of the ship as a field stone tower. The extension on the south side was probably added in the late Gothic period. In the east wall, a group of three windows that appeared originally has been preserved or is partially been restored. On the north and south sides, too, a window remained in its original form, albeit a clogged one.
