Right next to the Weesower Luch nature reserve, nature is being paved with solar modules on a gigantic area of 290 hectares in order to supply just 50 thousand households with electricity. For comparison: a medium-sized nuclear power plant (old design) only needs half the area and can supply 3.5 million households with electricity. Where is the final repository for the 500,000 solar modules when they are used up?

Hiking
The huge solar park, the "EnBW-Solarpark Weesow-Willmersdorf", borders directly on the NSG "Weesower Luch" in the north. It covers an area of a total of 209 ha (not 290 ha), around 465,000 solar modules are used there, which are expected to produce around 180 million kWh of electricity per year. This will make it one of the largest solar parks in Germany.
