Only a few contemporary witnesses on both sides of the border will still remember that mountain huts on the Zwercheck used to offer refreshments and accommodation. Only ruins are still reminiscent of the "Juranek hut" at that time.

The Pilsen Ski Club built a log cabin in 1922, which was named after the pioneer of skiing in the Bohemian Forest, Arno Juranek.
This cabin burned down on December 22, 1931, and a new mountain hut was inaugurated on October 28, 1932.
This mountain hut was allegedly destroyed by soldiers of the German Wehrmacht at the end of World War II! Another cabin was built for the third and last time after the war, and it was opened on December 23, 1945. When communism began in 1948, this area was closed for about half a year. Nowadays, only a ruin reminds us of the Juranek cabin.
