Because of the protection of Reichenstein Castle, craftsmen settled at the entrance of the moat. Bamberg's bishops founded a church there that was consecrated to the holy apostle James the Elder, the patron saint of pilgrims and travelers. Unfortunately, there is not much left of the original church, as today's parish church was destroyed by the Turks in 1480. The residents rebuilt them (until around 1490) and equipped them with fortifications and defenses.A beautiful church (inside and outside), where you can see that it is a little older, even if it looks fresh. There is a cemetery with many graves around the parish church. Next to the church (across the street) there is a small fountain from which the view is even better.Further information:

Beautiful church that is centrally located, worth a stop for a few photos.
