Located on the balcony of the Mangfall Valley...

Beautifully situated with a view of the extensive Mangfalltal and 80 mountain peaks! Before the Church of St. Bartholomäus was built on the site, Hohenrain Castle is said to have stood there in the 10th century.

The walls of the church are from the Romanesque period. In the 15th century the church was rebuilt in the Gothic style and from 1720 it was given a Baroque touch. The chancellery with evangelist symbols, which was made in 1784 by the woodcutter Josef Götsch from Bad Aibling, is particularly valuable. The church is right next to the "Zur Schönen Aussicht" inn. Also known as a Way of the Cross or Hiking of the Senses leads to St. Bartholomew's Church.
