A botanical jewel of a special kind, the "Yellow Alpenrose", also known as Lendorf's miracle flower, grows as a shrub on the western edge of the municipality (Austria's only existing stock of Rhododendron luteum Sweet). It is still sporadically found in Eastern Europe and the South of the Black Sea and blooms from mid-May to early June in beautiful orange-yellow colors.

There are several theories about how the miracle flower came to Lendorf: it could be an ice age relic, a Roman from Teurnia could have planted the shrub or a bird brought a seed here. In 1937 the miracle flower was placed under nature protection and is meanwhile a nature monument.
