Built in 1739 by Oberdorfmeister Gaisberg, it was probably an old post office.
One of these paths, an ancient route from Roman times, leads from Oberen Gäu via Renningen and Gebersheim directly to the forest garden and past Heimerdingen to the east to Hochdorf and from there down to Enzweihingen. Even today, in the southern part of the district of Heimerdingen, there is the field designation "under the old postal route". The path is also known as the "Rittweg".
The post stations were deliberately set up outside of towns and there are others in the area at a distance of 25 - 50 km
