Austrian Gothic jewel. The parish and Franciscan church of St. Mary (around 1300) with the Wallsee chapel (1343) is one of the oldest mendicant churches in Austria. The idiosyncratic architecture of Austrian high Gothic, the magnificent stained glass windows by Markus Prachensky and the late medieval cloister (around 1400) of the attached Franciscan monastery are worth a visit.
