The so-called Scheunenviertel is located south of Nienburger Straße. It currently consists of a collection of eight field barns and is unique in Lower Saxony. The barns were built in such a concentrated manner on this elevated location because there was a lack of space on the farms and because the nearby Hache could not reach the barns on the small hill during high water . The barns are of different sizes, according to the size and importance of the respective owner's farm. The rough studs with the centuries-old oak beams have been preserved almost everywhere. The roofs are usually thatched. The oldest barn is more than 300 years old and dates from 1696.
