Jetty on Lake Södra Bergundasjön

Södra Bergundasjön or Södresjö is a lake in the municipality of Växjö in Småland and belongs to the main catchment area of Mörrumsån. The lake is 5.4 meters deep, has an area of 4.32 square kilometers and is 160 meters above sea level. The lake is drained by the Bergunda Canal waterway. Large numbers of fish species were caught during the experimental fishery, including perch, birch, bream and gers.

Södra Bergundasjön is part of the sub-catchment area (630276-143765) that SMHI calls the Södresjö Estuary. The average altitude is 169 meters above sea level and the area is 21.18 square kilometers. If the 4 upstream catchment areas are included, the total area is 41.85 square kilometers. The Bergunda Canal, which drains the catchment area, has the secondary order 2, which means that the water flows through a total of 2 watercourses before it reaches the sea after 110 kilometers. [5] The catchment area consists mainly of forest (34%). The catchment area has 4.6 square kilometers of water, which corresponds to a lake share of 21.7%. The buildings in the area covers an area of 5.54 square kilometers or 26% of the catchment area.
