The church in the center of Ysane was built around 1400 and was blessed by Saint Gertrud, the saint of the travelers. The chancel of the church is decorated with well-preserved lime paintings by the famous church painter Nils Håkansson from the 15th century.

The church underwent significant additions and renovations over the centuries, including the construction of its tower in 1862. It houses historical artifacts such as a 17th-century pulpit and an 1808 brass chandelier.
