It is not possible to visit the manor house. Only look from the outside ;-)

The manor emerged from a moated castle, was built in the 13th century under the Lords of Glaubitz. In 1890 the property was acquired by Theodor Bienert, who is also known as an industrialist in Dresden-Plauen. After 1945 the property was used as a home for the victims of the Nazi regime, as a convalescent home and home for light food and a branch of the Riesa Hospital. Since 1972 there has been an after-work and retirement home here, since 1996 with the Volkssolidarität Riesa-Großenhain e.v. as the owner.

The Schlossresidenz Glaubitz reveals historical aspects from times long past and offers a small insight into history. Glaubitz Castle is particularly popular with tourists and locals alike as a photo motif.

In the 13th century a family lived here, named after the place von Glaubitz; the same seems to have been related to the old Silesian family von Glaubitz, who initially resided in the county of Glatz, sold their estates to Archbishop Ernst of Prague at the beginning of the 16th century and settled in Silesia in the houses of Brieg, Klein-Tschirne, Alten -Gabel and Herzogswaldau, - all located in the principality of Glogau -, of which the former received the baronial character in the 17th century.

In 1996, Volkssolidarität took over the building, which has been used as a retirement and nursing home since 1972, as a free sponsor. In 2004 she moved into a new building. The castle was reconstructed.

Since the end of 2005, the office of the People's Solidarity and apartments have been housed in the palace. A hall on the ground floor, which was set up as a castle café, is available for events. A fortified courtyard with parts of a moat has been preserved from the original moated castle.
