Also known as the poets quarry, it is located in the Morlungo area at 1240 meters above sea level, a few hundred meters from Piazzale dell’ Uccelliera and is marked by a series of signs with passages from Mario Luzi's poems. The position is very panoramic on the sea and on the surrounding quarries. The idea is by the artist Marco Nereo Rotelli (1955) with the collaboration of the journalist and writer Fernanda Pivano (1917-2009) and was developed during the 11th Carrara Sculpture Biennale in 2002 entitled "Sculpting the word": it had to be a poetic place that linked the word to marble and quarries. On the walls of this disused quarry, in fact, verses donated by great poets were engraved in order to have a marble book, the verses are dedicated to life and to the rights of life itself.
