The new glass elevator connects the "Pescatore" park located in the city centre to the Pfaffenthal area at the bottom of the Alzette valley. The ride in the glass elevator features sweeping views (71m high) for pedestrians and cyclists alike. Using the elevator is free of charge.

The elevator is running every day from 5.45 in the morning until 1 o' clock at night.

Every first monday of the month, the elevator is out of order due to maintenance (from 9.00 am till 5.45 am the following day) .

A panorama lift has been running between Pfaffenthal and Oberstadt since 2016 and connects Oberstadt with Pfaffenthal.

In just 30 seconds you can overcome a height difference of 65 m.

At the exit of the pedestrian bridge that connects the elevator with the city park, you can see the sculpture “Passe-Muraille” by the artist Jean-Bernard Métais (* 1954).

It is reminiscent of the former fortifications on site.

An Indian chestnut tree grows near the cycle track, which was planted in 1921 for the birth of the future Grand Duke Jean and father of today's Grand Duke Henri.

The large building with a neo-Gothic facade (1886) is a retirement home.

It bears the name of its founder, Jean-Pierre Pescatore, banker and tobacco producer. During the von Rundstedt offensive (1944/1945), General George S. Patton (1885-1945), commander of the 3rd US Army, set up his "headquarters" here.

In the foundation's chapel, Patton prayed for the best meteorological conditions to lead the Battle of the Bulge.

One pillar of the Pescatore Foundation fence has a small roof.

It reveals that the ventilation of the former Réduit des Fort Berlaimont and its casemates is located here.

The cycle path leads in the direction of the Robert Schuman monument, the founding father of Europe.

He was born in Clausen in 1886.

The monument, designed by architect Robert Lentz, was inaugurated on October 24, 1966.

The inscription shows an excerpt from the Schuman Declaration of May 9, 1950: “Europe cannot be created in one fell swoop, and not even by a simple summary. It will come about through concrete facts that initially create a solidarity with action. "

Opposite the monument is Luxembourg's “Great Playhouse”.

It was inaugurated on April 15, 1964.

It is the work of the French architect Alain Bourbonnais.
