The Kanzelbrücke spans the Möhnesee in the sphere of influence of the Möhne. The bridge built in 1912 lies between the districts of Völlinghausen and Wamel. It is not only the oldest bridge over the Möhnesee, but is also one of the most beautiful stone bridges in Germany. The structure, also known as the Wameler Bridge, was built based on the model of old German river bridges.

It got its name from the construction of its pillars, which resemble church pulpits. The picturesque Pulpit Bridge consists of five arches and is around 60 meters long. It was built of greywacke and sandstone.

The bridge is a replacement for a previous structure with three arched stone arches, which made it possible to cross the Möhne river even before the reservoir existed. During the Second World War, the Pulpit Bridge was badly damaged and restored in 1953 true to the original.
