The Kreuzsteig is a path that was built between the Frondell Alm and the Köderhöhe during the First World War and was used for supplies. Constructed in 13 days in 1915, the trail has 103 switchbacks that climb a good 2,000 feet. For many years, the path was managed by the Austrian Alpine Club section Obergailtal-Lesachtal. After the path has been eliminated, it is now being looked after (mowed, marked, repaired) by a group of private people. For the 2.8 km long way to the Köderhöhe you need about 1½ hours to climb and there you have a direct connection to the Karnische Höhenweg 403.
