The Colosseum in Rome had a very organised entrance system for different social classes. There were 76 general entrances for the public, but there were also 4 main entrances reserved for high-ranking people. These main entrances were used by emperors, senators, wealthy princes, dignitaries and the Vestal Virgins.
These special entrances allowed dignitaries and the Roman elite direct access to the best areas of the Colosseum, ensuring that they did not have to mingle with the general crowd.
