A beautiful but also very strenuous uphill bike route through mixed forests. Although the path is not paved, but only gravel, it is nevertheless very easy to ride on a touring bike. There are no ruts, hardly any potholes, and the gravel is well-paved. Those who are lucky enough to ride down the Leonbronner Steige can consider themselves lucky :-)

The Leonbronner Steige trail leads more or less steeply uphill almost the entire way. About halfway up, there is a bench where you can take a short rest. A second rest stop with a viewing bench and a beautiful view of the Heuchelberg and the Zabergäu is located shortly before the end of the trail, in a sharp right turn. Another 100-150 meters later, i.e., at the very top of the trail, the Leonbronner Steige joins the "Rennweg," a Roman high-altitude route for trade and rapid troop movements.

The climb repeatedly offers views of the Heuchelberg and the Zabergäu. After a sharp S-bend, you reach the top of the so-called Rennweg, a Roman high-altitude road for trade and rapid troop movements.
