The strategically well-situated Schlossberg of Neuenbürg was inhabited 2500 years ago. The Celts were the first to establish a fortified settlement.
It was not until the Middle Ages that development and colonization began again.
Neuenbürg Castle is located high up on a spur in a loop of the Enz Valley.
The complex from the 13th century has been steadily expanded over the centuries, so that today you come across a castle ruin with an adjacent castle garden and castle.
