    The variant via the ridges is REALLY worth the detour. A bit technical at times, it is breathtaking and gives a good insight into why the GR20 has such a reputation. It remains quite accessible, but you have to be careful of the wind.

    The variant contains a few smaller climbing spots, but is generally easy to walk. Shorter and less altitude difference than the normal route. Probably also better prospects. But maybe not a good idea in a storm.
