Here you are standing in front of an old refrigerator, an earth cellar. It was used to keep potatoes, root vegetables, milk, eggs, apples and cranberries fresh. The earth and rocks kept the temperature cool in summer and stored heat in winter. It became obsolet with the invention of electric fridges.
