From the valley station of the Belchenlift, the old road, which is now closed to motor vehicles, leads the last almost 300 meters up to the Belchenhaus at 1,350 meters above sea level. From the Belchenhaus, which is around 50 meters below the summit, you have a magnificent view of the southern Black Forest, the Rhine Valley, the Vosges and the Swiss Jura. In good weather, you can enjoy the view of the Alpine chain from the Zugspitze to Mont Blanc from here - with a cool (non-alcoholic) wheat beer, for example. Of course, you can also overcome the few meters to the actual Belchen summit on foot (unless the shoes are too race-optimized) and experience the possibly most beautiful view of the entire Black Forest from there.

Attention: At the valley station there is a short gravel passage about 150 meters in length. Then it goes on rough, but impeccable asphalt surface to the summit. It is better to approach the descent a little carefully. The road is good, but due to the lack of cars it is not as clean as usual - you have to expect sand and gravel, especially in the corners.

With the road bike to very high to the Belchenhaus is possible, but at the gondola station it's a short piece of gravel. Right next to the gondola it passes. Follow the sign Belchenstraße.

A beautiful road winds its way up from the valley station of the cable car to the summit. Since it is closed to car traffic, you only share the path with other cyclists and hikers. First through the forest until the view clears, under the cable car and the last few meters with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and, in good weather, with a breathtaking view of the Alps. Category cycling value.
